Official Rust servers

It is a server that appears in the game's Official tab, run either by Facepunch or by a partner network they approve, such as Rustafied, Rustoria or Rusty Moose. Official status says who runs it, not that the settings are untouched: a few list modded tags. The practical difference for a player is admin coverage, queue size and a steadier wipe rhythm.

All maps reset on force wipe day, which is the first Thursday of each month. That is separate from each server's own cycle: many official servers also wipe weekly, fortnightly or monthly on their own schedule. The next wipe estimate in the table covers both cases and follows what the server has actually been doing, so it is the figure to plan around.

They are spread across Europe, North America and Australia, and the region column shows where each one sits. Population is not spread evenly: European servers carry the largest share, so queues build there during the European evening. If you play at a fixed time of day, choose a region where that time is local evening and check the queue length before joining.

Yes. The default group limit is eight and most official servers keep it, so a solo player shares the map with full teams rather than facing a rule against them. A handful set a lower limit of three or four, which narrows the gap. If you want a smaller group cap, apply the group filter in the directory.
