What counts as a roleplay server in Rust?

It is a server where players follow a character or a role and accept rules beyond the base game. Those rules usually block random killing, offline raiding and griefing. Admins enforce them with plugins and moderation. Most roleplay servers are modded and many are PvE.

Do roleplay servers allow PvP?

It depends on the server. Around three quarters on this list are tagged PvE, so player combat is off or limited to events. Others set PvP zones or allowed raiding hours. Read the server rules before you build.

Find the server in the in-game browser and connect. Many require you to read rules on their Discord first. Some run a whitelist or a short character application. The server's own page lists the process.

What rules apply on roleplay servers?

Common rules are no killing on sight, no metagaming, no griefing and staying in character in public chat. Raiding may be restricted to certain hours or banned. Breaking the rules can lead to a ban. Each server posts its full rules on its website or Discord.
